Enrichment
Enrichment classes are programs that support learning and individualized strengths. In addition, Evergreen School District offers the following enrichment programs to all students.
Arts Enrichment Classes (All grades)
Live Arts Zoom Webinars taught by experienced, professional artists/educators. These fun and engaging Arts lessons have been developed for specific grade levels and are designed to teach Arts skills and standards. Each lesson is 45 minutes in length.
Speech/Public Speaking Classes (4th & 5th graders)
The district is working with Advantage Communications(opens in new window/tab) to offer a public speaking program where 4th and 5th graders acquire life skills, build confidence and have presence. Students will learn the art of non-verbal communications, vocal inflection, pacing, eye contact, research and speech writing structure, interpretation skills, and interpersonal communication. Students will be encouraged to write an informative speech and present their writings in a clear and engaging way that is unique to their level and style.

Speech & Debate Team (6th & 7th graders)
The district is working with Advantage Communications(opens in new window/tab) to offer this program. We started with 90 students this year and hope to grow the program in the coming years. We have three teams representing each of our middle schools. Student participation includes 20 students at each of the middle schools and 10 additional sixth-grade students from our elementary schools. After registration, students participate in video submitted auditions to determine teams. This program requires the involvement of three teachers who, with Advantage Communications Coaches, co-coach students once per week.

Computer Science
Python Coding (Grades 5 & 6)
Python for kids is one of the most used programming languages, and the fact that it is user-friendly and uses dynamic typing makes it valuable to learn. The good part is it is easy to read and understand. Python is used in artificial intelligence, web development, and data science.
Java for High School (Grades 7 & 8)
By learning Java, students have an early start in computer education by introducing them to the High School AP CSA curriculum. Java is a particular language that belongs to an object-oriented set of programming languages and thus Java for students introduces them to a fundamental concept in the world of programming.
