Dear Montgomery Parents/Guardians,
I hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy. You should have received this message in an email because you indicated that your child needs to check out a device to access learning during the extended school closure.
Because of the County-issued shelter in place and safety risks leaving your home, we are taking extra precautions to ensure your safety and the safety of the Evergreen staff who will assist you. Devices have been cleaned with a disinfectant wipe. You are encouraged to wipe it again when you get home. Our checkout process described below will work within the social distancing guidelines.
There will be two different opportunities for you to pick up a device: Thursday, April 2nd or Friday, April 3rd between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm.
Please note, devices may only be issued directly to a parent or guardian.
Here are the steps for the "grab and go" device pick up:
- Drive up to the front parking lot near the main office building. DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CAR.
- Wait for Montgomery staff to approach your car. Staff will make every effort to maintain a safe social distance and avoid any direct contact with you.
- Complete the Evergreen Technology agreement. Return the signed agreement to the staff member.
- A staff member will give you a copy of the agreement, a Chromebook, a charger, and a protective bag.
Please expect the process to take 10-15 minutes. We thank you for your patience and flexibility.
Devices are expected to be used appropriately for school-related activities and maintained in the same condition. You will be expected to take full fiscal responsibility for the device including the replacement cost if it is lost or damaged. Here is the Technology Loan Agreement for your review: ENGLISH | SPANISH | VIETNAMESE
The device will allow your child to access lessons and activities, use all of the online tools and learning resources (including participating in Google Hangouts with teachers and other staff), and communicate using a district issued email account.
Please contact me with your questions.
Ms. Jahsve Worthy, Principal
